Health4Men’s Ukwazana programme held a sports day with a difference in Khayelitsha last Saturday.
In an effort to eradicate stigma and discrimination against homosexuals, Health4Men hosted sports matches where gay, straight and bisexual people teamed up to play netball, soccer and volleyball.

The Ukwazana project not only educates people on homosexuality and general sexual health care through sporting events but also targets other sites such as shebeens and taverns.
Health4Men is run by the Anova Health Institute. The organisation provides sexual healthcare services specifically tailored for men who have sex with men (MSM).
Health4Men is hosting this Oscar nominated film at the Out In Africa film festival which is taking place 12 to 21 April. “How To Survive A Plague” was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2013 Academy Awards and was nominated for and won numerous other awards.
PEP studies among MSM have been done in Amsterdam, Brazil, and San Francisco, but never before in Africa—despite the fact that in most of Africa MSM have one of the highest rates of HIV infection.
