What’s your game plan?

BEFORE the risk strategy: Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is an HIV prevention option for negative men who anticipate high- risk exposure to the virus. It is taken in advance of the exposure. It consists of a tablet that must be taken every day. PrEP is not available for free.

AFTER the risk strategy: Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is used by HIV negative men after they have had a high-risk exposure to the virus. It must be started within 72 hours after the exposure and reduces the chances of infection occurring. PEP must be taken correctly for 28 days. It is available for free.

Whatever works for you, remember that both PEP and PrEP should be used in combination with other safeguards, including consistent use of condoms and water-based lubricant.
